The new Ice Rink at Lagardular is a great facility and perfect for US Teams learning the style of play on European rinks. The soccer facilities throughout the Island, from the excellent grass fields to year round use AstroTurf are suitable for practice or matches, and stadiums in Reykjavik and Akranes have hosted European and World Cup qualifying matches. Each year the Iceland Football (soccer) Festival is a highlight on the calendar.
The swimming pools in Iceland are amongst the best in the World and whether you choose to head on to Europe or stay in Iceland, you can be assured of the best facilities for your training. Reykjavik also hosts a Marathon every year and Travel & Play can take care of all the details for you - entry, hotels, transfers and flights.
Indoor sports such as Volleyball and Basketball are also well represented with several top class gymnasiums in the Reykjavik area. Again, as a stopover for Basketball teams, Iceland is ideal for helping you adjust to the FIBA rules, before competing in Europe.

- ICE HOCKEY - surprisingly Iceland is a relative newcomer to Ice Hockey but the two rinks in Reykjavik offer superb facilities, and competition is available for Men, Women, Over 30's and youth teams of both sexes.
- BASKETBALL - a prize for naming the first Foreign player in the NBA - yes he is Icelandic!!! The indoor gyms and sport halls in Iceland rank with the finest in the world. Again teams for all ages and both sexes are available offering competition for all levels
- SWIMMING - Iceland has more pools per capita than any other country in the world. Enough said!
